Specialty Trusses

Specialty trusses refer to any component made up of lumber held together with connector plates other than typical roof and floor trusses.  The most common type of specialty trusses are ‘fascia panels’.  These are often used on commercial buildings to create a canopy or eave line and can come in an infinite variety of shapes and sizes.  Specialty trusses can also be used as concrete form supports in various different applications.  A typical use would be to support bridge decks and would remain in place until the concrete cures.  Other specialty trusses may be made up of a unique design or building material such as ‘exposed’ trusses, meant to create a visual impression, or trusses made of pressure treated material or even trusses made from rough timbers.
