Engineered Beams

Engineered beams are used in roof and floor framing.  They are much stronger than dimensional lumber, span further, are straighter and uniform in depth and come in any length.  Buildings using engineered beams typically have longer beam spans and require fewer support posts providing a more open floor plan with design flexibility.

Leduc Truss stocks four depths of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) beams to match our I-Joist product lines as well as an 18” depth for longer spans.  We also carry two sizes or strengths of LVL in 1 3/4” and 1 1/2” widths in order to provide the best designs available.

The strength of beams are increased by laminating two or more plys of LVL together on site.  To support even heavier loads, Leduc Truss supplies larger cross-sectional gang-lam beams.

Also included under engineered beams are garage door headers, engineered wood columns for transferring heavier loads and tall wall studs.
